Tatoos

I don't have a tattoo.

I'm pretty sure I'm to indecisive (or flighty) to actually commit to anything that permanent.

I'd pick something and then change my mind before they even finished putting it on.  "Flower-- no wait, a star, no-- a giant picture of the Mister, he would love that!"

Plus, do I really want people staring at me even more than they already do?

Seriously, I try to be as inconspicuous as possible when out in public.  A tattoo says, "Come look at me!"

Whenever I see a person with an obvious tattoo I wonder things like, "I wonder if their mother knows they have that?"  Or, "Lets say they have a fancy party to go to.  Do they use base to cover it up?"  "When they are old will it look all weird and jumbled?"  "I bet a nice turtle neck would cover that puppy up..... wait, does anyone really wear turtle necks anymore?"  "If they get really really fat does it grow with them?"  "Gee wiz, that must have taken a lot of needles!  Yowza!"

My mind wanders a lot in public.  I like to make up stories about people to keep myself entertained.  It makes going to the store a little bit more fun.  Tattoos add a little spice to my stories.

OK, just in writing this post I've changed my mind about which tattoo I'd get.  A Chinese proverb... hmmm, maybe not.  How can anyone commit to one choice for that long.  I've already redecorated my house several times and it's only 5 years old.  I even rearrange the furniture on a regular basis to keep things fresh.

Getting a tattoo is clearly too much pressure for me.

I'm going to go move some furniture.

(So how about you.... do you tattoo?)

I don't, for the same reasons as you. Plus I think I'd feel too guilty. But mainly because I don't know what I'd get and if the Mr. found out I think he'd leave me...

Here here! I also don't doodle cause I cannot even come up with something that I like well enough to put on paper... let alone me!

I can't handle to pain or the pain of making the decision of what to get! I can't believe you found that old Cosby clip! Love it!!!

I have one tattoo.. on the small of the back BEFORE the were considered tramp stamps. I had wanted one for MANY years, but it took me awhile before I decided. Once I picked it, I lived with the idea for awhile to make sure I didn't change my mind. When I was 23, a friend just got licensed to give tattoos & offered to do mine for free. I went for it & it hurt like you would not believe.
I'm half Irish& always considered myself to be Lucky so I got a four leaf clover made of hearts. So far, I've never seen it on anyone else.

I would love to get shooting stars symbolizing my 3 babies on the top of my foot. I've considered a Treble Clef or 1/8 note on my big toe..

I don't tatoo, but every year when our little towns fair comes around, there is a henna artist that comes and I can't resist! I get the same beautiful fairy just above my ankle and for a week or so, I love having that image there!

That poor mickey would look like he was melting! yeah thought i knew everything them...nobody told me my body would look like this....so happy i didn"t do it!

I don't have one. Although there is a running joke with son #2. He was my biggest baby and I have a huge stretch mark from him. I always tell him if I get a tattoo it's going to be his name with an arrow pointing to the stretch mark! I knew a girl that got a sun tattoo around her belly button and two weeks later she found out she was pregnant. I've always wondered what it looks like now.

The mister popping in. I vote for a giant tatoo of my face over your heart... that would be cool. Then you would really be stuck with me. Four kids can always be sold but a tatoo....

OK, Mister-- how about a picture of you on my booty. That sounds a little better to me. That way when I called you a butt head it would really be true.

I wouldn't want people staring at me like I do at thoses with tatoos, so I had better not get a Tatoo.

I don't get why people tattoo at all. It just logically doesn't make sense to me. It's a "young hip" thing to do but with wrinkles, weight loss/gain, they fade over time, not to mention the pain. Really the question is why would anyone want one?

A Chinese proverb? What are you talking about? You and Tim should get matching bacon tatoos. Yeah.

I have three tattoos, and each one was for a different reason. I have a tiger on my left shoulder blade cuz I was "Tiger" in high school; a dragon on my right thigh representing the new life I was venturing out on when my sister got married; and a third in blacklight ink on my right wrist that says "Love" in script, which is for my depression (to write love on her arms is a non-profit org that helps people get the help they need). I love each of my tats and would not hesitate to get more.
