Living on the Edge

I hate getting gas in my car.

I just don't want to do it.

I don't like spending the money to keep my car running.
I don't like stopping what I'm doing to get gas.
I don't like having that faint hint of gas smell on my hands.
I don't like the awkward moments of trying to figure out what to do while your gas is pumping.

The empty tank light doesn't phase me.  I'll get around to it when I'm good and ready.

I've been known to push the envelope on this many times and I have yet to actually run out of gas.  It's become an unhealthy game for me.

So last night when my sister noticed that my light was on-- I didn't really care.

She is a tank-is-half-empty-hurry-to-the-pump kind of person.  So I decided to push it a little with her.

She didn't disappoint.  In fact I realized I ruffled a few feathers when she started flailing her arms and yelling, "oh my gosh oh my gosh TURN AROUND!!!" as we passed a gas station on the way to our destination.

It was just what I needed.  I'm living on the edge people!  That's how I get my rush these days.

Mother of four risks all and laughs in the face of danger!

(Then I drove straight to the gas station after dropping off said sister.  Shhhhh-- don't tell.  I have a reputation to uphold here people.)

Hee hee! I hate getting gas too. But I also hate totally freaking when the gas light goes on.

I do want to say though, when gas was 80 cents when I was in college, I seemed to somehow fill up all.the.time. and keep the car full back then . . .

This blog is me to a tee. Seriously. I do the same thing. I drive on empty for a whole week without filling up ... opps! Only ran out of gas twice ... but not in this car yet. (Knock on wood)

My car estimates how many miles left. I usually take it a bit past zero. Am I crazy too or what? Yay, you hit it right on. That's my kind of rush, too. You are so funny, Lec.

Me too! I can't recall the last time I gassed up - I always blame the empty tank on the hubs and luckily he loves me enough to fill er up. My Mom hated gassing up too and would drive all the way into town to the only place that still pumped it for ya.

Oh and my bracelet arrived a while back - I LOVE it!! Once I feel skinny (never) and all purty (ha) I will posts some pictures of my wrist! Thank you again!

That is me too. Once the red light pops up I feel I have a good 30 miles so I alwasy push to try and get to the gas station by my house or the one that is literally right off the freeway. Maybe if I just filled up when I knew I had a long journey that annoyance of having to fill up when I absolutely need it wouldn't seem so dreaded

I HATE getting gas. Whenever Derek borrows my car, it is an ongoing joke that it will most likely be on E.
